Intensive Russian Attacks Cut Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased strikes in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and dealt with problems to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, according to local officials.

Russian forces has intensified strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "real steps" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but decisive action - from the US, the EU and the major economies - in providing protection systems and applying restrictions," was stated in a public message.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty rockets attacked energy facilities, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

Local officials said the urban area endured heavy assaults overnight. A young boy lost their life and several individuals were wounded.

The attacks succeed evenings of air raids in the area, portions of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The whole nation is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to spot.

National leaders told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

He said technical personnel and authorities were anticipating more assaults.
