A teenage boy has been judged to life behind bars with a base duration of sixteen years for the murder of other student Harvey Willgoose during a lunch break.

The defendant knifed the victim, also aged fifteen, through the chest with a weapon at the learning facility in the winter month.

The presiding justice revoked the identity protection restriction on the perpetrator during sentencing at Sheffield Crown Court.

Court Trial

Throughout the legal proceedings, the defendant claimed he had not intended to murder Harvey or cause him significant damage, asserting he could not remember what had occurred.

Prosecutors argued that he had "wanted to prove he was hard" and "understood exactly what he was performing".

"You were the provoker and... you acted in distress and anger at what you considered to be his treachery of your friendship," stated the justice during the punishment phase.

Consequences

The educational institution released a statement conveying that the student was "dearly remembered every daytime by the complete educational community".

Police officials stressed the catastrophic consequences of carrying blades, commenting that a "instantaneous choice" can irreversibly transform various existences.
